Microsoft cl, link, lib are used. I want to use Unix-compatible tools (make, shell, rcs). It has been working fine when I only build a small number of files. But when I put all files (over a few hundred) in a multi-level tree and attempt to do a "make all" on the top of tree, the make, shell, and rcs beagn to abort because "running out of memory". IT seems to be a common problems to several vendors products. Does anyone have similar experience? Which vendors provide reliable make/shell/rcs that do not have such memory problems? I will post the summarized information on the notes if I receive enough feedback. Thanks --I.B. Chang 408-562-5535
