My main concern related to spending that much money is: will it do (almost) everything I want? I would very much appreciate any comment or recommendation related to the followings: 1) I will definitely need a document processing system that support math symbols and formulae. Does a PD or comercial version of LATEX/BIBTEX exists for the mac? Does there exist a commercial WYSIWYG program that does everything LATEX can do? 2) My wife will need a 3D architectural CAD program. We are actively looking at ArchiCAD, AutoCad, and ArchiTrion. Any comment? 3) Does a C++ compiler for MacOS exist (besides MPW)? 4) Does anyone recommend against using a NEC or Magnavox 14" color monitor instead of the Mac monitor? Thanks very much for your help, george (georgew@cs.washington.edu)
