Keywords: giffer, color, startupscreen Message-ID: <12426@hydra.gatech.EDU> Date: 10 Aug 90 20:26:25 GMT Organization: Georgia Institute of Technology Lines: 15 Since I obtained Giffer 1.06, I've been having great fun looking at nifty color pictures. I noticed you can save the gif pictures into the res id=0 pict format, i.e. a PICT resource which can then be pasted into the StartupScreen's PICT resource, thus giving you your favorite picture as a startupscreen. However, when doing this I loose a great deal of color resolution. The original picture was done in 256 colors, but the PICT lookes like 16 colors. Why have I lost resolution in this process? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. -- thomas willett Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta gt4586c@prism.gatech.edu "Violence is the last refuge of the incompetent." - Salvor Hardin (Foundation)
