This may be obvious, but if your 17-inch monitor seems small, make sure
the picture size is adjusted properly so that the black borders are not
too wide. I was alarmed at how small the 17 seemed after using a 19, but
things were better after I twiddled the controls at the back to enlarge
the picture. You'll get more distortion at the edges, but this may be
worth it.
