Beats me, what software are you using to do your checkpointing? Checkpointing isn't a standard feature of "generic" UNIXes; some vendors may have added it. (I've never dealt with any such checkpointing schemes, so don't tell me what scheme you're using; if you don't get any answers, consider reposting your question with more details about the flavor of UNIX you're using and the checkpointing scheme you're using.)
