I had the same problem with a Conner 100MB drive running Windows 2.11. The only difference in using the Conner and my previous MFM drive was that Windows would take significantly longer to load; once loaded, everything worked fine, however. The important points are 1) Windows undoubtedly took significantly longer to load--on the order of 1 minute on my 386SX versus a normal loading time of 10 or 15 seconds. 2) The phenomenon occured regardless of which device drivers (such as DM) are loaded at the time. 3) The phenomenon always affected Windows loading time, but only sometimes did it affect application loading difficulties. My friend has a Conner IDE drive that doesn't have this problem. I eventually returned the Conner (for other reasons), but I'm still curious to know why this was happening. ______________________________________________________________________ Michael B.
