Motif 1.1 will *NOT* work with (MIT) X11 Release 4, with or without the current set of patches. Presumably this also means that any application developer with an X11 binary system derived from MIT release 4 who goes out and buys the OSF source product will find that it does *NOT* work with the binary version of Xt which he or she possesses. I accept that the Xt implementation in MIT release 4 might not conform to the standard (as expressed by the documentation), but most high quality application software developers deal with this by working round the problems and leave the actual fixes to the people who supplied the erroneous software. This has obvious advantages. John Bowler (jbowler@acorn.co.uk)
