1. I was privately assured that XView would someday (maybe in 2.1?) support
   PANEL LISTs with columns as well as rows (i.e. 2-D lists).  Can anyone
   confirm this?  I have already begun programming as if this will be the
   case.  If it is true, how soon might the new capability be expected?

2. How do you create a phoney event?  I want to display a menu, but not
   as a result of a mouse click.  But (as I remember it... my manual is
   at work) menu_show takes an event as an argument.  I tried NULL, and
   it didn't work.  Any suggestions?
