SIMPC is a product of SIMWARE, Inc. It runs on MS-DOS PC and is used for terminal emulations (ie.- VT100, 3270). The usual configuration is for the PC to hook up to a X.25 PAD or have the VAN (Value Added Network) to provide the X.25 framing. The destination host (Always a Mainframe) must then provide ways to de-packetize the data and formats it to look like a native terminal. In IBM mainframe environment, this is done at the communication front end (37x5) with a S/W package called NPSI. Other vendors that uses VT100 have their own methods.
