Sorry for any inconvenience. -dwp] FS: To Chris Waters (of MetroLink, I think, duh) TMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM It's ok, Frank, I'm really none to clear on all these connections myself. It boggles me how many networks meet here - I've given up keeping track. FWIW, your messages have an East Coast Forth Board tag when they appear HERE (Snakepit BBS). I pretty much call this board just for ForthNet. I have another Sysop I'm trying to persuade to carry this conference. Of the systems I've shown him, he's found Pygmy the n_fQ@%5AIMMRY9JA!=U!Qd{U"5RA+k+dto know that. FS: Thank you for your suggestions. That's just what I wanted to know TMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM Glad I could be of service. I'm suprised nobody else jumped into this thread. I figured your post would generate lots of responses, but mine was the only one I saw. FS: My feeling is that ver 1.2 is MUCH better than 1.1 but that, at 3 this point, you might as well wait for 1.3. TMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM Hmm, ok, 1.1 was pretty impressive. I'm ready to be stunned. :) As far as the file vs. block access goes, I waver back and (ahem) forth about this issue. Blocks certainly make make things simpler, e.g. editing, virtual memory, etc. OTOH, files provide compatibility with worlds full of development tools. And I get tired of re-inventing the wheel. But as long as the system source is available, I can experiment freely, using either approach as I desire. Actually, since most of my high-level definitions are 2 or 3 lines long, kilobyte blocks are too large. And, as you pointed out, they are too small for assembler definitions. I haven't seen BASIS yet. I'm going to have to check this out one of these days. Some of the comments I've seen around here worry me slightly. I got a couple of key things pushed throug8n the 83-standard, and I'm ready to try again if need be. Ghod I hope they gave up on floored division. :) Chris PCRelay:SNAKEPIT -> #150 MetroLink (tm) International Network 4.10 Snake Pit*408-287-2353*San Jose, CA*HST/v32 NET/Mail : DC Information Exchange, MetroLink Int'l Hub.
