Jones and Tracy Crabtree}, TITLE = {Fortran Tools}, PUBLISHER = {John Wiley and Sons}, YEAR = {1988}, NOTE = {ISBN: 0 471 61976 0 LC: QA76.73.F25J66 1989} } It is in many respects similar to Kernighan & Plaugher's 'Software Tools' books, but has (among other things) A preprocessor very much like the C-preprocessor A lexical analyzer and a small compiler with a virtual machine in Fortran. Both of these caught my eye. The book is aimed at VMS and MS-DOS users. The preface says that machine-readable sources can be purchased, though I don't know the cost. Questions: 1) Has anyone read it yet who might be willing to review (in email or on the net) it read it yet? If not, and IF I get a chance to read it in the next two weeks, I'll review it (assuming others are interested). 2) Has anyone got their machine-readable sources? Errors or problems in using them? Outside of VMS or MS-DOS environments? Thanks. -- David Bernholdt bernhold@qtp.ufl.edu Quantum Theory Project bernhold@ufpine.bitnet University of Florida Gainesville, FL 32611 904/392 6365
