It seems that there are a few people active in this forum that work with X/Open compliant systems. With the recent emphasis on internationalized programs, does it make sense that perl become internationalized? The main reason that I bring this up is because I am finding it desirable to use perl in conjunction with a number of other programs which have been internationalized already. I would like to be able to make the perl scripts I write useful to the audience which uses the associated programs, but without internationalization, this goal may not be realized very easily.
