(please!) Message-ID: <2912.26c931f8@cc.helsinki.fi> Date: 15 Aug 90 11:28:56 GMT Organization: University of Helsinki Lines: 38 Howdy! I'm ***very*** eager to get perl up and running on my XENIX machine, but I get a core dump just after Configure finishes (i.e. when it says to either type a carriage return to continue or quit to edit things manually before compilation, I hit CR and it dumps core). My configuration is a follows: 16MHz 80286 1 MB RAM 10+ MB free disk space 3.5 MB allocated swap space and I have been compiling in maintainance mode (so all possible resources are available) using the large compiler model. Is this too small a configuration for perl or (as I suspect) are there needed special tweaks and adjustment for 286 XENIX?? Just to be extra explicit, I have SCO XENIX/286 version 2.2 and have the entire development system installed (minus the DOS cross- development stuff and the medium model libraries). If anyone has successfully compiled perl on a similar platform, I would be ever so grateful for the modified code or even the pre-compiled executable(s). Much thanks, ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Patrick Stickler Nokia Research Center stickler@rc.nokia.fi (BIX: stickler) University of Helsinki stickler@hylka.helsinki.fi ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
