It would be nice if Perl understood #line directives, or the
# <line> <file> directives that come from most C preprocessors.
I realize that the latter is not standard, so Configure would have
to do some work to see what information is available to Perl and
how to get it.

The reason this would be useful is that I am writing software
that generates a Perl script as output, and I would like to
be able to insert #line directives to point back to the
user's source file.
