For completeness I should add that discussion about SGML is currently going on in comp.text, and there's a proposal afoot to create a new newsgroup for it (comp.text.sgml). SGML has been put forward (reasonably) as a markup scheme for hypertext documents. I haven't seen much work as yet to talk about it for multi-media efforts; there is work being done at Brown regarding a SMML (std. music markup language) which would probably be better suited to shipping around music scores rather than Bart Simpson sound bites. --Ed Edward Vielmetti, U of Michigan math dept comp.text.sgml ISO 8879 SGML, structured documents, markup languages yes votes to sgml-yes@math.lsa.umich.edu no votes to sgml-no@math.lsa.umich.edu
