Smail 3 can do what you need here (also, perhaps a combination of sendmail
and smail 2.5).  It can be configured to allow multiple names to be
recognized for the local host, and can do path lookups based on complete
or incomplete matches on domain names.  The distribution also includes
some tools to merge local map info with the published versions so you
can force things to go the way you want internally..
