Anyone have their phone No. or address? Are there other Unix utility packages for MSDOS you would recommend? Yes! The GNU file utilities, and many other GNU tools, have all been ported to MS-DOS by Thorsten Ohl, in Germany. I did not try every UNIX-like tools floating around, but I can say that Thorsten's ports are highly satisfactory to me. Just as a matter of example, he sent me is port of GNU make, two days ago, and it is a wonder: I never had such a powerful make on MS-DOS. It swaps itself out of the way, it automatically generates response files, and other very nice gooddies. I think his work should be better publicized. How should I proceed to make it available on this continent? -- Franc, ois Pinard ``Vivement GNU!'' pinard@iro.umontreal.ca (514) 588-4656 cp 886 L'Epiphanie (Qc) J0K 1J0 ...!uunet!iros1!pinard
