There are some characters best not used in any format,
because they are often changed to other characters
in various national variants of the ASCII character set.

These characters to be avoided are: }{|@`~^][\.

The characters # and $ also vary between different countries.

In the IOS 646 standard, the international version of ASCII,
all these characters are designated as for national use.
