I remember reading in one of these groups (being: comp.protocols.tcp-ip,
comp.os.vms) that some privileges were necessary for the 'ping' command for
WIN/TCP for VMS to be able to be run successfully.
The reason for this, was that ping uses raw sockets to achieve its goal.

What I forgot (to remember and to save) is:

"What exactly are these privileges?"

If someone could please enlighten me, I would be very grateful.
