Note that some versions of some IBM 802.5 TCP/IP products have
required that the RIF they receive indicate a willingness to handle
2052-byte frames, before they'll talk to the other end.  PC/TCP
advertises TCP MSSs on the local subnet based on this packet size.
The concept of 802.5 <-> 802.3 "MAC-layer bridges" has an underlying
flaw.  See pub/msb_vs_lsb/* on vax.ftp.com for the details.
