Shrink, Reduction, Implosion ?!?! Maybe it would be a good idea to use the names of the algorithms used. Something like Huffmann says more than any four of the beforementioned methods. At least I can look up the name Huffmann in the science citation index to find the paper that describes the algorithm. Another advantage would be that the name space of algorithm-inventer's names is larger that the number of synonims of the words Shrink, Reduction, Implosion, compression, ...
