Distribution: comp Organization: Tektronix TV Measurement Systems, Beaverton OR Lines: 18 I haven't seen a Solbourne "Virtual Desktop" or a "TWM", but I have used a product which has the ability to spread windows out over an area larger than the screen for several years. The Tektronix 4404, 4405, and 4406 Artificial Intelligence Workstations have had this feature since at least 1985. The available space is three screens wide by two screens high. An unlimited (at least for practical purposes) number of windows can be layered within that space. In many cases, what is seen at first as a violation of intellectual property rights turns out to be completely benign. Very often, "new" ideas are found to have been invented several times before.
