   Giving it away infringes on copyrights also.

Sorry to split hairs, but you can also purchase a used program (manuals and
all) from an individual and that isn't considered pirating.  That is assuming
that the program was an ORIGINAL to begin with and the first owner DIDN'T
keep a copy for himself.
