I have a Quantum PowerDrive 105meg drive, which is intended for Mac (well, it was) usage. The little manual for the Mac software stated that you should always use the Quit option from the Finder because it parks your heads on your hd for you. This is the only mention of parking in any of the books which came with the drive. So my question is: Does the GS Finder (5.02) Quit option actually park your heads? My drive is so quiet that I can't tell if it's parking or just closing some files (I'm not bragging here, folks, you really can't hear this drive unless you put your ear up to the cooling vents). If the Quit option DOESN'T park my heads, is there a generic program somewhere that does this? I tried the one in SCSI Hacker, but it gives me some error (like $2b or something). I would really like to make sure my heads are parked before I let UPS ship it back to LA for me. :| Those guys really know how to thrash equipment. Thanks, Dale dalel@servio.SLC.COM
