For the LA100, the following apply: Bold On = [1m Bold Off = [0m Super/Subscripting = Look in the manuals for the escape sequences to move the carriage up and down 1/12". I don't know what they are. If you have problems finding them let me know and I'll look them up. Compressed Print = [0w for 10 pitch [2w for 12 pitch [4w for 16 pitch There are other horizontal pitches, but those are the ones I use most often. As far as I know, there are no settings for italicized print, unless you have font cartridges which DEC produced for the printer some time ago. Also, I don't remember what the sequences are for the underscore. I think there is one. Again, if you have problems finding it, let me know. You might try [4m for the underscore. I seem to remember something like that, using [0m to turn it off. But remember that [0m turns off ALL the settings of the "m" sequence, i.e. if you have bolding turned on, [0m will also turn off bolding. If you need anything else, let me know. I do have access possibly to my friends VTRS1-A (or VTRS-A). It looks as the price is settling around $125 for the used one. Another might be available if I can convince him to let go. The second one is still sealed in its original carton (brand new and unused). He says all manuals, power cord and software is still in the heat shrinked wrappers ,as the opened box was The first monitor has been used and he wants "more" for the unused one. I suggested a max of $25 more which would bring it to 150+-. If you are still interested ( or anyone else ) , let me know and I will try to get it and ship it COD. Of course I will make him an offer for you, just let me know how much!! Now about what the Specs mean that you sent me. Can you describe what each means?? ie: Activation force resolution: .o4 in.(1.0 mm) ETC. I have four Rainbows and one has a Color monitor. VR241 Do you think the VTRS is a higher resolution? As I write this I think I am going to try to talk him into trying the used one before buying. Do you know any economical source of the color cables that are used with the Bow. I just re-read your answer and maybe the keyboard and CPU can be attached with standard cables. I am the more I think about it, am going to at least talk him out of the manuals to read up on it. I tried to call you tonite at 301-622-2247, ( busy signal ) is that your board or is it your voice number?? Thanks again, and I hope to hear from you soon - --- Opus-CBCS 1.12 * Origin: Glacier Peak Rainbow, Bellevue, WA - 206/644-8431 ------------------------------ Date: 08-14-90 (18:21) To: DAVID HEID Subject: RE: DEC MONITOR INQUIRY From: AMER NELSON I MAY have an extra color cable. I thought one of mine was bad but the problem may have been the BNC/RCA adapter that I got at Radio Shack. The other night I brought up 1-2-3 and the color was pale green instead of the usual pale blue. I jiggled the adapter and all was well again. Let me check it out further. Other potential local sources are Geoff Reed and United Products. Keep me posted about your cable needs. Yes that board can be used on the 100A but will require an adapter board. It will allow memory expansion to 832K maxinum in the 100A. Double check your board and see if there is 27 or 28 of the memory chips installed. Unless you have one of the sockets empty there should be 28 chips. I do have the adapter board available for $20 including shipping if needed. Didn't you say you were using BACKUP/RESTORE with 3.5" disks and an I-drive to get files from one Rainbow to another? Please state your setup again and explain what you're trying to do.
