I have a WD1003-WAH hard disk controller with two hard drives attached. I also have a FileCard 20 with a WDC 60-000227-01 controller. I have configured the 1003 as controller 1, and configured the 60-000227 as the second controller at BIOS address CA00. I can't get it to recognize the drives. When I try to boot, the D drive on the 1003 and the Drive on the File Card start *chirping* and everything seems to stop. I suspect a Port conflict or some such problem. I don't quite understand completely how the system addresses the drives on the first and second controllers. Do they share ports/per/controller? I can configure the controller on the Hard Card for ports 320 or 324 Hex. I don't have any tech sheets on the 1003, so i am not sure exactly how it is configured. Anyone else accomplish this? Is it a futile effort? I'd really like to use this filecard for *slow* storage. Thanks -- ------------- Mark Starner Unisys Corporation/Integration Support Facility starner@isf.unisys.com
