Dyer Computer Consulting, Cambridge MA Lines: 15 For two nights in a row, I've tried to FTP two large HQX files from apple.com without success--throughput (or lack of same) is abysmal, like getting 3K of a 300K file after 10 minutes of waiting, only to have the transfer time out. I've tried this from two different nets and two different machines (MacTCP and a 4.3BSD machine), with the same results. This sounds like some sort of net black hole or problem with IP reassembly, though knowing the pedigree of the software on my end, I don't think I'm to blame. Anyone at Apple know what's going on? -- Steve Dyer dyer@ursa-major.spdcc.com aka {ima,harvard,rayssd,linus,m2c}!spdcc!dyer dyer@arktouros.mit.edu, dyer@hstbme.mit.edu
