In the latest Microprocessor Report (great newsletter, too expensive
for me, a college undergrad), their news section contains a
couple of paragraphs on the '040. A spokesman from Motorola said
they had a new mask for the '040 which is supposed to fix (most?)
known bugs. Production quantities are supposed to be availbale by year
end. HP and Next were said to be ready to ship machines as soon
as they could get chips - maybe I was reading too much into
the article.

Nothing about whether Moto's claims for the '040 are true or not...
There's also an article about the evolution of Intel CPU's and
their flaws and advantages.
