I didn't say to change the UNFORMATTED form. All I want, and others too, is a binary file. (1) I find unformatted very inconvenient. (2) Direct-access is even more inconvenient. (3) I haven't tried to call C from FORTRAN on our new 4D, yet. However, if it is like the 3000's, it will be a royal pain. -- Brent L.
