On 16Mhz 386 with 2M or RAM, and 386 Modular BIOS from Award Soft. can not run windows in 386 or standard mode. When I try, windows or something just reboots machine. (When himem.sys and smartdrive are not present windows run in real mode - It is the only mode I can run windows) Error was (with smartdrive...) RAM parity error. - My RAM seems to be fine - I checked with all the tools I have. Any takers? 2. Paint brush that comes with the windows will not print drawings on a HP Think Jet 2225-C (Settings - all hardware switches are off). Printer is installed properly (I think). I can print text files from File Manager. Also, I get graphics if I run DrHalo from DOS, so printer is working. The right driver is installed. Did anybody have better luck with this setup? 3. When in windows, clicking a mouse on DOS icon produces error. The screen goes black - then a quick message: incorrect DOS version and then back to windows. I didn't change DOS after I installed windows. It is MS-DOS 3.3 from HP residing somewhere in RAM. Any ideas? (Sorry if these questions look too trivial or stupid to you but reply to me anyways, I need answers. Thanks) DISKLAIMER: Computers are my hobby, and thoughts and spelling errors are my own - nobody else's. -=- Nebojsa Jaksic, Instruction and Research Computer Center The Ohio State University; 1971 Neil Ave. Columbus OH USA 43210 neb@tut.ohio-state.edu{arpa,csnet}att-cb!osu-cis!tut.cis.ohio-state.edu!neb (614) 292-4843 ext. 4-8992
