I have installed nntpd in the /etc directory and added the proper entry to my rc file. /usr/lib/news/nntp_access exists with the following entry: default read post demo read post Where demo is the name of my machine. Nntpd refuses any attempts at connecting to it, even a the root user. Right now all I want to do is telnet to socket 119 and get into nntp. I don't want to have to compile and install all of nntp, and Cnews in order to test it. Is a complete set up neccesary necessary test nntp? I really would appreciate ANY help. +-----------------+---------------------------+-----------------------------+ | Bill Poitras | Polygen Corporation | {princeton mit-eddie | | (bill) | Waltham, MA USA | bu sunne}!polygen!bill | | | | bill@polygen.com | +-----------------+---------------------------+-----------------------------+
