The club also publishes a "for sale" list once a month for members (and others?). Anyway, I was amazed to see many listings selling birds like mallards, shovelers, canvasbacks, Canadian Geese, and other native water fowl. There was even an ad listing "whoopers, Trumpeter swans, andeans,...". How can these people be selling these birds? I thought it was illegal to possess a migratory bird unless you have a special rehabilitation or scientific research license. These birds are apparently available to private owners.
