The original ones consisted of a ceramic substrate, with 2 flat-pack chips soldered to the top of it. You are in luck! A company called Purple Computing sells upgrades, and other accessories for most laptops. I have once purchased upgrade chips for my model 100, and they work fine. I think they were half the cost RS charged (years ago). Numbers I have for them are 800-732-5012, and 805-987-4788. Good luck! Christopher A.
