I am considering the installation of a fibre-optic hub ethernet with a bridge at the end of each fibre. However, the thought of cross network traffic having to pass through two bridges has made me stop and think whether a multiport bridge in place of the hub repeater would be a better solution. I would still like to keep the point-to-point fibre and possibly replace the remote bridges with repeaters if we could use a central multi-port bridge. I would welcome any comments or feedback. -- Martin C. Holland Internal e/mail: HOLLANDM@PHIRHV1 Philips Research Labs. External e/mail: HOLLANDM@prl.philips.co.uk Redhill, Surrey.
