Herron) Organization: The Wollongong Group, Palo Alto, CA Lines: 22 The protocols that UUCP uses can be swapped out -- though you'd have a pretty steep obstacle to climb to get AT&T to put some random piece of (3rd party) software into UUCP. The `g' protocol gets about 80-90% efficiency in pushing bits around at the line speeds with which I am familiar. (300 baud up to 9600 baud) I see little reason to switch away from what I have now, especially since it would greatly limit who I can talk to. Zmodem has, on the other hand, an interesting feature in that it can restart failed transmissions in the middle. My work-around for the lack of that feature is to simply split files before uucp'ing them.
