Message-ID: <1990Aug24.025438.20052@sbcs.sunysb.edu> Sender: usenet@sbcs.sunysb.edu (Usenet poster) Organization: State University of New York at Stony Brook Date: Fri, 24 Aug 90 02:54:38 GMT I know this subject has been discussed before, but then I wasn't interested; but now, after a motherboard swap, I am!! With a 12/89 Chips & Technologies BIOS in a 20Mhz 386DX Gateway 2000 microcomputer, suddenly the right-hand Control and Alt keys, and the cursor positioning keys (upper and lower sets) to the left of the numeric keypad, don't work. Using the WM_CHAR message display program included with the MS OS/2 PM toolkit v.1.1, different scan codes are given than with using the previous motherboard (AMI BIOS), although it's the same keyboard. The virtual identifier given was just a set of minus signs (not the ctrl or alt usually given). I looked in the config.sys, but can't find any specifications or driver to do with the keyboard. Do I need a new BIOS (probably)? Has C&T upgraded since 12/89? So, can anybody help? Thanks in advance! --- - Jeremy Wohl - cfreas@csserv1.icunix.sunysb.edu
