As a result I don't think software written for the SUN RPC is going to be very portable when compared to socket or stream binding. We've already seen a bit of this attitude in the Sun network management software. It supports access only by RPC, not SNMP. This makes out Suns more difficult to manage than most any box on the net which is manageable! R.
