It is an on/off switch for Amber, the de-interlacing chip standard in all A3000's (It works like a flicker fixer). Switching between NTSC and PAL is done from Sys:prefs/screenmode.... it's a software switch. Second... It doesn't (to my knowledge) hurt the A3000 whatsoever to toggle the Amber when the machine is on. Third... As far as switching kickstarts, there is a hack on PeopleLink's database that can be installed to allow change of kickstart without turning the machine off. -Clayton Bownds :^) Vision Graphics
