FYI, the offer is basically trade in any SCSI controller and get the new GVP controller for $109 or the SCSI+RAM controller for $148 (an additional $10 off if you trade in one of Commodore's) . It sounds like a good deal, but the terms of the offer (send in your current controller + certified check) make it sound difficult, if not impossible, to go back (not to mention I would be without a system until the new controller arrived). Thus I would like to feel comfortable about it before tearing my system apart again. I currrently have the Commodore A2090, and have been resigned to the inevitable prospect of upgrading in the future anyway. However, before I get into something like this, I would like to have some opinions about GVP and their products. A few specific questions would be: is this a good deal? What would these boards cost normally? True DMA (ala the A2090) is VERY important to me. GVP claims this board is. Anybody have one that can comment? Comments on SCSI implementation, compatability issues (anybody got a tape drive or CD-ROM drive?), customer support.... Comments about why a different controller might be prefered would also be appreciated. John Meissen ..............................
