I have a script which, before outputting the file, does a: stty 9600 cs7 -cstopb -pass8 -parenb Which should (theoretically) set the line to no parity, 7 bits, 1 stop bit. There seems to be some parity problem though, and many characters are being converted to (the character | 0x80) -- That is, the high order bit is being turned on as if some kind of output parity is being done.
