I have recently aquired a 386sx board with a pushed cpu from Pioneer. I have a few questions maybe you PC hardware studs can help me with. First of all, I read in some of the previous articals that for the most part ya'll haven't been having trouble with pushed cpu's. But you did warn that the cpu should be kept cool. My first question is this: would it help to put some heat sink on that sucker. It sure is hot to the touch, much hotter than my old 10MHz 286. My second question is this: This board has a female receptical built into the board it looks kinda like the recepticals at the end of a ribbon cable used for disk io. It consists of two rows of 13 holes. What the heck is this thing for? Lastly the way one sets the cpu speed and rom/video shadowing on this beast is with a program Pioneer calls setsx. As far as I can tell the shadowing has absolutly no effect on system performance. This is quite contrary to some of the other systems I have played with in the past. If you can answer these questions and/or have such a board but have not had these "problems" please respond to me via e-mail or post to this group. Anyone from Pioneer out there? -Thanks in Advance -Dave ________________________________________________________________________________ r--_____ r---__ r--_____ |"The weather is here, | \ |_____) | \ | I wish you were beautiful."
