I ran coretest 2.92 against the whole thing and came up with
an average seek time of 802ms, an average track-track seek time of
82ms, a data transfer rate of 107.2kb/s, and an overall "index"
of 0.702 when compared with the XT 10mb disk...  

Doesn't sound like an ST-251 to me...
