I've I don't think that this is any fault of Atari, I have seen the Portfolio advertised by many mailorder places with full peripheral support, and even adverts by Atari, something they rairly do even with their larger products. Yes, the RS232 port is "Normal" you just have to buy theirs and plug it in, though the internal file transfer program works through the cheaper parallell interface. there are also memory upgrades avalable, and RAM cards (instead of disks). Lately the Portfolio can be had from many places for $300 with a 32K RAM card and the parallell interface. It is merely the fault of the store you saw it in that these other things were mentioned. I don't know if Procomm would work though, somehow I doubt it, but it is possible. I don't have a Portfolio but am looking seriously at buying one.
