I guess I (Peter) must add that I only use MacWrite 5.0 for reading docs since
it somehow manages to get launched when I "open" an old format MacWrite file,
usually a downloaded "read only" version.

I use MacWrite II for document creation, editing, and spelling checking so I
have to admit that I have never used the MW 5.0 spelling checker on 6.0.4
(I did use it on 6.0.2 with no problems).

Sorry for the misleading information.

By the way, I believe that Claris shipped a third party spell checker with
MW 5.0.
