Keywords: NeXT Multi-user Performance Evaluation Requested Message-ID: <1990Aug20.175707.3499@cs.uoregon.edu> Date: 20 Aug 90 17:57:07 GMT Sender: usenet@cs.uoregon.edu (Netnews Owner) Reply-To: mbell@cie.uoregon.edu (Max Bell) Organization: Campus Information Exchange, University of Oregon Lines: 18 Our site is considering purchasing a new machine to replace our current, overly costly to maintain, machine. The NeXT has been mentioned as a possibility, but its ability to meet the needs of our site's multi-user environment (16+ users with various applications from telnet use to compiling & other CPU/IO intensive jobs) has been disputed by various outside sources. I would be very interested in hearing from anyone who is running a NeXT in a similar situation, or can refer me to someone who does. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.
