Lines: 33 O.k. gang, this is a bizarre one. I get the message Opening pty: permission denied when I go into emacs and it try to execute (display-time). Just to make it seem like I am crazy, the problem has somehow corrected itself once again and now I can execute my (display-time) no problem. I changed nothing, I did nothing except start typing this note. It didn't work when I started to type and when I tried to repeat the error, it did work! This also affect my M-x shell, and gave me the same error message. This problem has intermitently happened now and then. I can not correlate it with anything. I am the only person on the system when it happens. Since I am root, I can log in that way and get the pty to work o.k. instead of being in my own personal account. Does this help? Any suggestions? p.s. if you have trouble emailing, try hemstree@handel.cs.colostate.edu. charles -- !===========================================================================! ! Charles H.
