I am using GNU Emacs version 18.53.3 under SunOS 4.0.3.  The problem I
have is that I cannot "stuff" more than a certain amount of text into an
Emacs buffer. The limit seems to be 256 characters.

This is very annoying, since I can "select" much more text than I can
"stuff". Does anyone know what causes this limitation and how to work
around it?
