Keywords: footnotes, \caption[]{...}, figures, tables, LaTeX Message-ID: <66902@lll-winken.LLNL.GOV> Date: 23 Aug 90 03:44:19 GMT Sender: usenet@lll-winken.LLNL.GOV Organization: Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory Lines: 22 What I'd like to do: Include footnotes in the \caption[]{} LaTeX command in the figure and table environments. The text of the footnote should appear in the footer to the page on which the floated figure or table appears. I would use the optional argument to \caption to avoid having the caption footnoted in the list of figures/tables. Question: Can this be done? And if so, how? I have tried using varying combinations of the \footnote{}, \footnotemark{}, and \footnotetext{} commands to no avail. I tried placing the \footnotetext{} command both inside and outside the \caption{} argument. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. --Bracy ------------------------------ Bracy H. Elton | elton@lll-crg.llnl.gov Dept. of Applied Science | University of California, Davis | (415) 423-7262 P.O.
