Subject: how to make .fmt on the Cube?

I'm trying to make an amstex.fmt file on my NeXT Cube. So I have a file
mydump.tex:
 	\input amstex
	\dump
	\end
Then I say "initex mydump". That's it. But it doesn't work. It gives an
error. What do I do wrong? How to fix it?
