Message-ID: <548@DIALix.UUCP> Date: 21 Aug 90 11:01:59 GMT Organization: DIALix Services, Perth Western Australia Lines: 17 We have a SCO UNIX system here, with a tricky mail problem. Users mailboxes in /usr/spool/mail cannot be updated sometimes. The user deletes mail items and when exiting, is greeted with the message that /usr/spool/:saved/_name_ has permission denied. (_name_ is the mailbox name.) This only happens on the default mailbox... It's fixed by using cat to extract the contents into a temporary file, and then using cat again to overwrite the mailbox contents again. No permission changes... Any ideas? I've run out of reasonable explanations (Yup, I've checked the phase of the moon :-)) bernie
